ABOUT SIMON DRIVE STUDIOS
Carrie holds a BA from the conservatory of performing arts at Point Park University with a double concentration in musical theatre and production design & an MFA from the University of Memphis in lighting design. She has been working professionally since 1995 & made her directing debut in 2007. Carrie has worked in NYC, internationally in Wuxi, China & regionally in Memphis TN, Pittsburgh PA, New Jersey & Sarasota FL. Carrie began her training during grammar school in gymnastic & private music lessons & began performing in musicals at the age of eight.
Additionally to stage production, she has experience consulting, designing and executing commercial architectural lighting design, rigging, power distribution, sound & comms / monitor design for businesses ' relocating, making additions or under new construction. These include: theatres, art museums, restaurants, yoga-dance studios, churches & private residencies.
Carrie is a fine artist producing commercial paintings/collage, photography, pr & marketing materials, folk art, furniture restoration/up-cycling, jewelry designs, floral designs, home-garden goods & boutiques. Carrie taught high school fine art classes as a permanent substitute teacher at Fordham High School for the Arts in the Bronx, NYC. Her photography has been published in The New York Times-NYC , The Montclair Times - NJ & in The Star Ledger -NJ as well as for corporate restaurants in print & social-media adverts. Additionally, Carrie has experience working in floral design shops & boutique as well as managing restaurants & bars. Carrie is a published poet in the 25th Anniversary Edition of Cavalcade, PPU, 1998. She is currently writing her memoirs, titled deCoux: All Roads Down the Yellow Brick Road Lead Home, A Memoir © Caroline Yacono 2024. She hopes to someday publish volumes of poetry and plays she has written.
